Arrests after man seen with machete in Stifford Clays

A MAN and three teenagers have been arrested following reports of a disturbance in Crammavill Street, Stifford Clays, yesterday afternoon.

Police were called at around 4.30pm on Sunday 17 May after residents saw a machete being brandished in the street.

Officers responded and, with the help of the British Transport Police, conducted a thorough search of the area.

Three members of the group, an 18-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of affray.

All four arrested are believed to be from the Barking area. They remain in custody for questioning.
