A small band of young, enthusiastic cricketers from the Belhus club pulled off an unlikely indoor six a side win on Friday and, in doing so, emerged as under sixteen tournament champions in the final match between the two unbeaten teams in the league.
After they had scored a patient 53 for the loss of two wickets after twelve overs, the Belhus team made two early strikes, the first of which came from the first ball of the Benfleet innings. Opening bowler Crystal Gansbuhler bowled Lauren Earle, then, three balls later, Gansbuhler was again on hand to gather a good throw and break the wicket to run out Earle's replacement batsman, Chloe Brady, for just one run.

T’s attacked straight from the kick off, fine work from the pack getting almost to the line, only to turn the ball over in contact but as Camp Hill tried to run the ball great pressure from the T’s defence caused a dropped ball which Scott pounced on for an easy run in. Her own conversion unfortunately bounced back off the post, but Ts were in the lead 12-3 at half time.
Things started brightly enough when early pressure was rewarded with a penalty which Frankie Neale slotted. Shortly afterwards Mike Stanley drew the Ruislip defence wide and breezed through a gap to score under the posts. Frankie Neale duly added the simplest of conversions. However a series of handling errors hampered progress and allowed the home side back into the game.
