Walking into the auditorium of the Thameside Theatre last night would have confused anyone! I had either been transported to the Chelsea Flower Show or the Ground Force team were hiding somewhere in the wings ready to burst out and thrust a champagne bottle at me! The stage had been transformed into a beautiful English country garden overnight (or, in reality, over a few hours that afternoon).
Our starter was the Skateboard Theatre Company performing “Love in Glass Jar” by Nancy Harris, winner of the Cambridge Festival. This is a story about two strangers, Patrick and Eve, who have arranged to meet in a hotel room after chatting on the internet in order to carry out an unofficial sperm donation.
THE X-FACTOR star was an absolute delight. Shyly sitting in the VIP Tent playing with her two-year-old son Zac, having her photo taken and then going along the whole front row of the crowd signing autographs.
Aidan was one of the most popular artists of the saturday afternoon and just like Stacey was a class act. Signing autographs and chatting to fans before he went on to produce an excellent performance that drew an amazing response from the audience.

Black Market Karma perform around 3.30pm. They describe themselves as neo-psychedelic rock. If you listen to the track below, you will get the feel for their music which, with heavy sitar gives a sixties feel but at the same time, firmly grounded in 2010.
THIS SUNDAY at 3.15, Britain's Got Talent stars Stavros Flatley take to the main stage at T-Fest. There is something so endearing about the father and son act. They are guaranteed to bring a smile to the face of every member of the audience.
Overall, ‘Rent’ was brilliant! The cast were exceptional and provided a really captivating play for everyone to enjoy. No doubt, this was a very complex and demanding play for everyone. However, the high standard of talent that was involved made it a real success. I wholeheartedly admire all of the young people involved within this year’s production of ‘Rent’.
In the film we meet four families who each have their own unique reasons for holding such elaborate functions - an 8-year-old boy who is throwing a cowboy themed party; a girl's winter wonderland party featuring meerkats, unicorns and reindeer; a superhero extravaganza; and the most spectacular of the lot - a bar mitzvah held at a five star hotel.
THIS last week has given us the opportunity to see the vast array of musical talent perform on stage at a number of celebration evenings across the borough.
Stacey Solomon, the 20 year old single mum from Dagenham, Essex has come a long way from her days serving up fish and chips at a local restaurant. She first came into the public eye when she appeared on the first show of X Factor Live Auditions shocking everyone with an angelic rendition of Louis Armstrong’s What A Wonderful World.
