Thurrock’s fine start to the season continued as they fought for a well-earned draw at the Dripping Pan last night (Wed).
Lewes are hoping to bounce straight back to the Blue Square Premier and signaled their intent by going a goal up as soon as the 12th minute through Dan Beck.
Thurrock have a real grit about them this season and bounced back five minutes later when Leon Lalite’s shot drew them level.
In the 59th minute, Lewes’ Williams Peauroux and Thurrock’s Lee Flynn were dismissed after Peauroux’s dangerous tackle on Matt Bodkin and skipper Flynn’s violent reaction. Thurrock’s boss Hakan Hayrettin was also banished to the stands.
Bodkin was the victim again in the closing minutes when Breach was shown a second yellow following his late challenge.
With two players dismissed last saturday, Thurrock will have depleted numbers for their game on saturday against Eastleigh.
