Indoor cricket league

After nine completed fixtures in the South Essex District Cricket Board’s indoor youth six a side cricket tournament for under twelves, Orsett, Rayleigh and Thurrock “A” teams are all unbeaten, but it is Orsett who lead the pack as their three wins to date have secured maximum points on each occasion.

In their latest victory, they overcame Thurrock “B” by 53 runs, thanks to Gibbon’s 25 not out, while team mates Tom Duck scored 22 and Connor Boreham hit 23. Orsett finished on 121 for the loss of three wickets and then bowled out Thurrock “B” for 68.

Rayleigh still have yet to lose a wicket as they powered to 113 against Belhus “B”. Rayleigh’s Max Jones and Matthew Dobson both hit 26 not out, while Jordan Jacobs hit 20 not out then claimed 2-13.

But Belhus came close to the target but had to settle for a final score of 73 for the loss of three wickets. Thurrock “A” (88 for 3) defeated Horndon on the Hill (87 all out) by three wickets, despite an impressive innings from Dan Stone of 40 not out. Harry Dove top-scored for Thurrock “A” with 20.
