Essex Police Authority have approved a budget of £268,948,721 million for the force for 2011/12.
The police council tax for a Band D property will be the same as last year at £132.12 ( Band D is used as the base for calculating the tax). This means that council tax payers in Essex will not see any increase in their council tax for policing.
Acting Chairman of Essex Police Authority, Neil Macdonald said: “It is good news that the people of Essex will not have to pay anymore than they have in terms of council tax for policing in the next year.
Mr Macdonald added; “One of the aims of Essex Police Authority is to deliver value for money in our service. Essex Police Authority is committed to doing so and will continue to work hard with Essex Police to meet the budget requirements while still delivering an efficient and effective police service.”
