Does the theft of this clock ring a bell?

Police are appealing for information after a distinctive clock was stolen in a burglary in Herga Hyll, Orsett.

Between 1.30pm on Wednesday, December 28 and 12pm the next day, suspects gained entry through a rear window, causing £3,000 damage. An estimated £1,000 worth of items were stolen, including a solid silver Georgian-style teapot with four legs, a solid silver sugar bowl, solid silver sugar tongs, solid silver cutlery and a gold Swiss mantle clock (pictured).

Investigating officer, Ds Mike Wilkinson, said: “These items are of great sentimental value to the victim, particularly the distinctive gold clock that is pictured, as it is over 30 years old. If you are approached to buy any of these items, or if you saw anyone in the area at the time of the break in behaving suspiciously, please call us so we can catch these thieves and return the items to their rightful owner.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Ds Mike Wilkinson at the Thurrock CID target offender team on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
