Cricket: Belhus youth show great potential

Belhus U13 110-7
Old Southendian and Southchurch U13 53 all out

Jamie Foster and Eathan Morris recorded their best ever bowling figures for Belhus in this 20-overs per side fixture at North Stifford on Sunday morning.  Foster picked up four wickets for 18 runs from four overs, while Morris also claimed four victims at the expense of just five runs, also from four overs.  Earlier, Mark Fogg top scored in a strong Belhus showing with 25 not out, while for the visitors, Long top scored with nine runs and Daines picked up 2-15.

Belhus U11 335-2
Orsett U11 248-9

Belhus produced an excellent showing in this pairs fixture at Orsett Recreation Ground. Tyler Kohl hit 37, Jude Ranson struck 20 and Joe Dalton contributed 17 runs to round off a polished batting performance on Sunday morning.   After the break, Morgan Rudder was amongst the wickets with four wickets for just two runs from three overs, while Liam Waters and Dalton held on to good catches in the field.  Sam and Rajan took one wicket each for Orsett.

Belhus U11 184
Goresbrook U11 296-4

Goresbrook opening bowler Alfie Bowland proved to be too hot to handle as he picked up five wickets at a cost of just nine runs at Dagenham on Sunday. Then just for good measure he hit an undefeated nine runs in this pairs fixture to help put the result beyond doubt.  Bowling success also came the way of Sam Wood, Henry and George Sleight with one wicket each as Belhus lost wickets at regular intervals, though Aaron Browne became the only Belhus batsman not to be dismissed.  Captain Hassan Mirza hit three boundaries for the visitors and he also finished his bowling with 1-17 from four overs.  The remaining three Goresbrook wickets to fall were shared by Browne, Billy Manley and Jonathan Bright.  Rhys Goulden also performed well for Belhus as wicketkeeper.
