OVER 100 people who volunteer with local community groups and their families came out to celebrate Tilbury and their volunteers under the banner of Tilbury Spirit on 22 February 2017. One Community Development Trust, who were the host of the event said this was the perfect opportunity during the month of love to showcase all things good about Tilbury and its residents.
Les Morgan and his No Nonsense live band entertained the crowd with jokes and music, whilst the residents had the opportunity to dance, network and have tea and cake together.
Partner organisations such as DWP, HealthWatch and Thurrock Council were represented along with the 3 out of the 4 ward councillors who represent the local area, along with the Mayor of Thurrock and Peter Hewitt MBE founder of the Tilbury Riverside Project were some of the dignitaries in attendance.
