A message from CEO of St Luke’s Hopsice, Eileen Marshall
JUST like the rest of our community, and indeed the country, we find ourselves in exceptional circumstances at the moment with developments surrounding COVID-19. We are focussing each and every day on keeping our patients, their families, our staff and our volunteers safe. As a result, we have put measures in place and are continually reviewing our plans to ensure that we can continue to provide high-quality, compassionate end of life care to our local community – just as we have done for the past 30 years.
Our In-Patient Unit remains open and our wide range of community services are continuing to provide care to patients in their own homes. We’ve made some changes to our Day Hospice, counselling and other clinical support services to avoid unnecessary travel to the Hospice, providing telephone support and arranging outpatient visits as required. Our charity shops have recently closed and many of our fundraising activities have had to be postponed or cancelled, which will greatly impact our income.
Now as ever, we remain reliant on support from people like you – our amazing community who donate and fundraise – to ensure that we can continue to meet the specialist palliative and end of life care needs of the local people we care for.
Every donation makes a difference. If you can, please donate to St. Luke’s Hospice today and help us be there for local people who need us.
