THURROCK Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, Cllr Barry Johnson,
reminds landlords of the many benefits when privately letting homes in
partnership with the council through the private rents scheme.
Cllr Johnson said: “Working in partnership with the council provides a
unique range of benefits including a fixed contract, security of tenure
and no hidden agency fees.
“We have a pool of verified tenants currently waiting to be housed and
will work with you to help you meet government regulations and ensure
you find a tenant to let your property.”
The scheme is available to private landlords and managing agents within
Thurrock and surrounding areas. Benefits include dedicated support
throughout the duration of the tenancy, a £399 contribution towards a
Rent Guarantee Insurance Policy, registration to the UK Landlord
Accreditation Partnership and a professional service without agency
fees.
