VOLUNTEERS Week is an annual celebration of the fantastic contribution that millions of volunteers make across the UK – and it’s taking place from the 1-7 June 2019.

TO support Carers Week, running from 10-16 June, Thurrock Adult Community College is running two free workshops for Carers aged 19+ on Monday 10 June with Calming Crafts from 1pm to 2.30pm and a Mindfulness workshop from 7.30pm to 9pm.
FUNDING has been secured to hold a major new celebratory event on Saturday 20 July 2019 called The Tilbury Carnival. Led by Tilbury on the Thames Trust (TTT), the Windrush Day Fund has awarded £20,000 for the carnival, complementing the funding already secured which includes £10,000 from the Port of Tilbury, £5,000 from Thurrock Council and a crucial £30,000 from Arts Council England.

DESPITE the soggy weather on Wednesday May 8th, staff and learners at Thurrock Adult Community College (TACC) took part in the @ForwardMotion Community Bike Event at their centre in Grays competing to delicious finales on the smoothie bike and trialling some of the hire bikes now available locally, including electric cycles!
