FIRE CREWS were called to a chimney on fire in Cherwell Grove, South Ockendon, crews used chimney rods and a stirrup pump to extinguish the fire by 20:52hrs last night (Wednesday).

Humpty and friends coming to the Thameside

THE Thameside Theatre in Grays will be full of young laughter and fun this month as Humpty Dumpty and The Big Book of Nursery Rhymes takes to the stage. Two shows are planned for Tuesday, 18 February - 1pm and 3pm – where Rose is lost in Rhyme Town, but Humpty knows how to get her home with the help of all the favourite nursery rhyme characters.
