Belhus leg-spinner Owen Jefferies reached 50 wickets for the season as he claimed two wickets in a good Belhus performance on Saturday against a more experienced Chingford team. Both sides fielded younger players with emerging talent and for the visitors, Ryan Wells and Jack Day of Belhus looked impressive with 30 and 26 respectively, while Day again impressed behind the stumps for the second week running and Wells also picked up three wickets with his spin operation from the Chingford pavilion end.

Stanford U17s started the season with a tough encounter with South Kent side Dover. The Kent side started the stronger team and put Stanford under pressure from the kick off. A number of well controlled mauls moved Dover closer and closer to the Stanford line and eventually the ball was shifted out wide and a try scored. The Dover kicker converted and the visitors were 7 points up. Further pressure was soaked up and it looked like Dover may have scored again but the referee deemed it a double movement and no try was awarded.
News that the Lakeside Hammers will face fierce local rivals Eastbourne in the Semi Final of the 2011 Elite League Play Offs was greeted with a hugely favourable response by the Club. "It is the fixture we wanted." said team owner, Stuart Douglas. "We know now that the atmosphere will suit the occasion, and that really transmits in a positive way to the lads. This isn't just another Speedway meeting; this is the best four teams in the Country fighting to be top dog."

Thurrock league season crashed back to earth with a mighty bump at neighbours Brentwood on Saturday. Thurrock can have no complaints as they were second best for most of this game to a very intense side wanting to win. Despite playing with the elements downhill and the breeze at their backs, they were soon behind to a converted try as the home side showed their intent.

A 106-run partnership for the third wicket between Connor Elliot and Ryan Wells proved to be the driving force in this three wicket victory over Brentwood at the Old County Ground on Sunday. Connor Elliot hit 66 runs and Ryan Wells was run out for exactly 50. Elliot's magnificent hitting gave the Belhus innings a much needed impetus as he struck ten fours and one six from 62 balls in 98 minutes at the crease. Meanwhile, the diminutive Wells half-century was established in 53 minutes; he faced 68 deliveries.
