THE ROYAL Opera House took students from Thameside Infants down to the Port of Tilbury to bring to life Black History month in Thurrock. The setting was appropriate as sixty two years ago, the Windrush ship brought people from the West Indies to settle in the United Kingdom.
Police are in attendance at a crash on the clockwise track of the M25 between junction 29 and 30. The crash happened at about 05.40 am this morning, (October 15, 2010) and involved at least 3 vehicles.

The government has officially announced the abolition of the DC in a a huge cull of quangos. It is a move it says will improve accountability and cut costs. It will axe 192 of the public bodies - such as the Film Council and the Audit Commission - while 118 will be merged. The future of some bodies is still under consideration but 380 will definitely be kept, the list says.

Volunteers take it in turn to be 'on call' and carry basic first aid equipment and a simple-to-use automated external defibrillator (AED). The emergency operations centre sends them to the scene of category A (immediately life threatening) 999 calls. First Responders are dispatched at the same time as the ambulance crew, but often arrive beforehand because they are based so locally. The responder then provides care until the ambulance arrives, usually only a few minutes later.
The driver of the lorry was questioned and later released without charge.It is believed he picked up the delivery from Tilbury docks and was told to deliver it Heywood Industrial Park in Manchester.
