Billy Holland's goal right at the death, against his former side, gave the Millers a much needed and deserved three points, after a penalty a piece from James Peagram and Shane Oakley early on in the match had looked to have been enough to give both sides a point.
Blues won through to the FA Trophy Second Qualifying Round with a 2-1 win at Ashford Town (Middx), to book a trip to Isthmian Premier side Whitehawk. With traffic delaying a number of players, changes were made to the intended line-up, with Grant Cooper replacing Junior Baker at the centre of defence, whilst Lee Flynn returned to the team in place of Leon Lalite; Danny Bunce started on the left hand side of midfield.
THE two ‘Thurrocks’ will meet in The FA Carlsberg Trophy Second Round Qualifying after the draw was made at Wembley on Monday morning.

Sudbury came out the stronger side in the second half and were back on level terms on 55 when ex Docker Tom Webb collecting the ball on the left and shooting left footed into the far corner passed James Marrable. Both Aiken and Llewellyn had chances to score before the hour but there efforts went wide.
This quirky situation of Landlords playing their tenants away but on their own ground threw up some interesting situations, and with Thurrock not having won a Trophy cup match since 2005 all faith was put into manager Mark Stimson whose own FA trophy record is impressive enough to give Thurrock the edge.

THIS was a consummate display by East Thurrock who dominated their fellow Ryman Premier visitors from the off. AVELEY'S return to league action ended in their third straight defeat after a 4-2 defeat at Cheshunt that saw the Millers end the game with eight men. GRAYS ATH put in another disappointing performance as they clung onto a solitary point at home to Soham Town Rangers. Hakan had rung the changes after the Maidstone mauling with Luke Marshall and Joe Sweeney dropped to the bench.

Playing a new, narrow formation with twin strikers Sam Higgins and Hakeem Araba at its spearhead, Rocks continually unpicked their hosts’ defensive formation from the off. With Higgins and Araba posing a handful up top, Rocks played around them and an early burst from the effervescent Kye Ruel set up a shooting opportunity for midfielder Reiss Gilbey but the visitors’ captain chose to place, rather than blast and keeper Rob Tolfrey got a hand to his curling strike and pushed it wide.
TILBURY snatched an equaliser deep into injury time to deny Soham Town Rangers their first home win of the season at the Lane. After Tilbury's heavy defeat at Chertsey Town last week, Manager Paul Vaughan made five changes with Marrable, Crooks, Matthews, Llewellyn and Henty replacing Anderson, King, Wraight, Small and James Smith.
