It has been a year but every friend and football fan will see the young footballers face beaming out and still feel a sense of sadness that cancer took the life of the young Grays Athletic footballer aged just 28.
His memory live on through the Ernie Cooksey flag. Devoted Oldham Athletic and England fans have been taking the St George’s flag with “Ernie Cooksey: 1980-2008” on tour with them. Not only around League One but as far as Kazhakstan. Much respect lads.
Our thoughts are with Louise and the family. This will be a sad day but we must also remember that the funeral was dedicated to the joy and happiness that Ernie brought.
