ANYONE who has been connected with the Gateway Academy will tell you that the opening of a new theatre has been such an important aspect for the school.
The students created the windows under the guidance of Caroline Weidman, Glass Artist from ‘Glass From The Past’ based at Barleylands Craft Village, Billericay. Caroline visited The Ockendon Academy, every Monday for three months to help them design and make their creations.
YES YOU did read it correctly. Students at William Edwards school in Stifford Clays gathered on the main field to attempt the world record for singing in a shower cap.
The Junior boys team continued in the same fashion and began with both Jake Bailey and Lewis Beard hammering it down the track in the 80m hurdles final. Separated by a whisker, top spot went to Lewis as Jake had to eventually settle for silver. Jake, however got his rewards and was crowned High Jump champion with a great jump of 1.75m taking the gold.
ONCE again, the artists of Gable Hall have put in a fantastic body of work. This year, we have the input and portfolio from the sixth form students. This augments the whole body of work of the school but also acts as a guideline for the young students coming through.
