Social Enterprise at Learning Shop

To meet these challenges, the Thurrock Learning Shop is offering a free "Capacity Building for Social Enterprises and their Trustees" workshop on Friday 16th July. It an ideal opportunity for anybody involved with SE to start thinking about the future, to take stock of the present and to learn from the past.

Chafford Hundred Sixth Form: Open Evening

There are many things that are clear. You won't see sixth year students hanging around in their hoodies, caps and t-shirts. Mr Tomlinson said: "We are looking out at Canary Wharf in the distance. Commedia dell’Arte at Grays School

IT ISN"T every day that you cross the courtyard at Grays School and Media Arts College and see students dressed in the costumes of the Italian seventeenth century. Then again, this is the Media Arts Day where a whole host of activities across the subjects and disciplines give the students an opportunity to see how the subjects open up and link to each other.

Ockendon Schools Workshop

The Royal Opera House has been running a series of workshops in schools across Thurrock as part of the preparations for Ludd and Isis, the High House People's Opera. Year 9 and Year 10 students at The Ockendon School raised the roof during their workshop when they were joined by opera singers from the Royal Opera House for a special singing session.

St Thomas’s Fete Tomorrow

There are a number of shows including a Dog Flyballing display, Irish Dancing, and Dancing from Raggamuffins Dance Company. The School Choir and Boy’s vocal Group will sing. There will also be a Rugby and Football display by Thurrock Rugby Club and First Kick Football ltd.

Olympian Ben Challenger in Thurrock

Olympic High Jumper Ben Challenger joined students from Treetops and Beacon Hill school for an afternoon learning all about the events that make athletics the centrepiece of the Olympics.

From Chafford To Berlin With Style

CHAFFORD Hundred School are so this year! Models from the school went to Berlin last month to take part in a fashion show that used only recycled materials.

Soundscapes at Palmer’s

The students work will also be showcased at Thameside Theatre on Monday 12th July 2010. Royal Opera House Education is holding a morning event to celebrate and showcase work undertaken by schools and colleges in Thurrock.

Ormiston’s Gifted An Enigma

The day was led and organised by experienced staff from the ‘Happy Puzzle Company’ with highly effective, hands on learning experience along with the ‘Millennium Mathematics Project’ with the ‘Enigma Schools Project’ taking code breaking, mathematics, intrigue and strategy into the classroom and beyond.

Baccalaureate Glory For Palmer’s

All eighteen students who completed the course gained either a Diploma or Certificate with the total result beating the IB world average and eleven of the group achieving grades exceeding 3 A grades at A Level.

Chafford Modelling In Berlin

THE TEXTILES room in Chafford Hundred Campus is a treasure trove of bright imaginative colours and designs. It is also a clearly a popular subject. Recently, a group of students travelled to Berlin to take part in a fashion show. The experience was part of the Year 10 course work as well as a key experience in mixing with students from across the continent.

Prizegiving at William Edwards

FORMER England, Harlequins and Willaim Edwards Old-Boy, James Evans was the Guest of Honour at the Prizegiving Ceremony for William Edwards School. The ceremony displayed the huge array of talent and achievement at the school.
