But a collaborative effort between Thurrock Council and the Thurrock Learning Shop has invited "Silver Surfers" to come along and learn the rudiments of computers. THERE are many signs in Thurrock that education at a senior level has improved by light years over the last few years. There is a plethora of examples as well. Perhaps one of the great examples is the invitation that Grays school's Maths Department gave to Year 7 parents to come in on a thursday evening and explore the world of maths as well as help their child's education.
It seems like fun but it is a very demanding musical but that is what the performing arts at Gable Hall are all about. This performance is for Year 7 and 8's only which is important as well as the younger pupils get the chance to shine and not be overshadowed by their older colleagues.

Four students (Vish Flora, Rachel Day, Alex Cannon and Eloise Turnnidge) have continued to dedicate their time since November to help AS students improve their essays and grades. The mentors were trained by Law teaching staff, who were on hand during the weekly sessions.
It also illustrates the level of maturity at a school such as Gable Hall that the students are empowered to speak to the assembly and reflect on the last five years. In many ways it is a nice thing to do but also illustrates to the world of work that in a keenly contested market, these young people are at the front of the queue.
Free computer and internet taster sessions are being held on Friday, 21 May between 10am and 1pm at the Thurrock Learning Shop in Grays (next to Morrisons supermarket). The drop-in sessions are being hosted by young volunteers who will be providing useful hints and tips on how to use a computer and surf the web.
