East Thurrock Grid: Still time to have your say

National Grid is reminding East Thurrock residents that they have until Monday 29 November to give their views on options for new electrical infrastructure required in the area. The project, known as the East Thurrock Connection, is to connect a new gas-fired power station proposed for Coryton – InterGen’s Gateway Energy Centre – by way of a new substation and connection to the existing overhead line in the area.

Simon Thomas has been under pressure all season but today he sparkled for Grays and illustrated why only a couple of seasons ago he was playing for Crystal Palace. Thomas opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after a fine cross from the left saw Alex Osborn rose above the keeper nodded it down into the path of Thomas who neatly tapped the ball in.

Supersonic Schools

We get to visit a lot of schools in Thurrock and we continue to be impressed. Only this week visited two outstanding schools, Treetops and Chafford campus. Last night we were guests at St Clere's prizegiving evening and witnessed the standard on show there. The film of the event will appear here shortly but we were impressed with headteacher Paul Griffiths when he spoke of Thurrock's reputation.
