Fire At Stifford Social Club

On arrival at the scene, crews reported that the fire involved a burning sofa in a function room. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to tackle the fire at the property, which is single storey and measures approximately 20m x 30m.

Three Cars Smashed In Ockendon

All three incidents happened between 10pm on Sunday, August 29 and 10am the next day. In Tamarisk Road, Aveley, the windows of a Ford Mondeo and a Ford Fiesta were smashed, causing a total damage of £275. In Derry Avenue, South Ockendon, a BMW also had its window smashed, causing £300 damage.

Men Sought After Assault In Woods

A 60-year-old local man was assaulted at 10pm while in a slightly wooded area which leads from Mill Lane to Mayflower Road.

The penalty came when Aaron Waters lost possession to Harry Baker just inside his own half, Baker ran at speed though the Thurrock midfield and was only stopped inside the penalty area by Rob Swaine illegally, there was little protest from the Thurrock players when referee Mr Phil Knight pointed to the spot.

Belhus Cricket Week In Full Swing

Over 40 clubs in the borough have come and gone in the past 50 years, but Belhus Cricket Club exists today by reason of its strong emphasis on youth cricket. Today’s 1st X1 bears the fruit of this emphasis and the team currently comprises no less than eight teenagers - fine talents who have progressed through our youth academy.
