Andrew’s Blog: Interview Skills

Over the last few weeks I have had the pleasure to be part of a group of businessmen and women to attend Ormiston Park and Grays Convent to conduct mock job interviews to help prepare them for the big wide world of employment

The show is the brainchild of singing teacher, Shana Elliott-Hayers and Jo Hyland. Shana felt that many young singers were not getting enough or indeed any experience of performing on their own on stage.

Belhus CC Results

Belhus started their cricket week to celebrate the club's 50th anniversary by challenging their 1988 first eleven.  Consequently, the invited guests proceeded to smash the ball to all parts of the North Stifford village green.  Openers Terry Lambert and Tony Lincoln were particularly severe on the hosts bowling attack as these to put on 169 for the first wicket.

AT our July meeting, speaker Ann Hardy gave a very informative peek into the life of a 17th century housewife. She began with some historical events from that era, including the Pilgrim Fathers travelling to the New World, Charles I being beheaded and Charles II becoming king.

Grays Man Dies In Hospital After Assault

Saulius Klevinskas, 35-year-old, of Grays, Essex, was attacked in Balmoral Road at 0820 BST on Saturday. Kent Police said Mr Klevinskas, who was originally from Lithuania, died at about 2200 BST on Thursday.

Grays v Tilbury local derby should be a cracker as all the team do battle on Bank Holiday Monday.

Thurrock 1 v 3 Bishops Stortford

After five games Thurrock are still looking for their first win, just three points from a possible fifteen sees them lying dangerously close to the relegation zone. It may still be very early in the season but both Chairman Tommy South and Manager Hakan Hayrettin believe its going to be a long hard slog to get them moving up the table.
