Litterbug smokers given heavy fines

Thurrock Council Community Protection Officers issued five £75 fixed penalty notices in Grays High Street for smokers who dropped their butts on the pavement instead of disposing of them properly.

Women charged after three car smash on Marshfoot Road

The collision happened on Marshfoot Road around 4pm and involved a silver Ford Focus, a silver Ford Fiesta and a red Vauxhall Corsa. The Fiesta ended up on its roof. Two passengers received treatment at the scene for minor injuries.

After suffering three consecutive defeats against fellow strugglers the visit of high flying Woking was not anticipated with any confidence. But Thurrock dug in and fought hard to try and win a point, the battle got harder when reduced to ten men but a cruel last minute goal robbed them of a deserved point.

Eight games without a win but Thurrock take Woking to the 90th minute at Ship Lane. East Thurrock pull five points clear at the top whilst Grays keep the pressure on the play off places.

Mr Neil Donovan, who lives at number 76, has applied for permission to build the extension – and has already started building work, despite not having permission. A large brick wall has already gone up, prompting a protest from neighbour Ken Gaylor who took to the chamber to express his opposition.

Triumphant debut for Rock Thurrock

The main speaker was Gary Cobb who works out of the BGEA office in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he is Director of Training. He gave an illustrated talk entitled, Reaching Young People for Jesus, which was essentially a presentation of the Rock Thurrock vision. Informative and full of humour, passion and challenge, Gary explained the origins of Rock Thurrock, being based on Rock the City events in the massive sporting arenas of the USA, and the various constituent parts of the project, with the training, community action projects and events. He showed video footage along the way of Rock the CIty events.
