ON Sunday 7th November Purfleet-on-Thames will be holding their Remembrance Day Service and this year will be unveiling memorial silhouettes to the 26 soldiers from Purfleet, who gave their lives during First Word War.

THURROCK Yacht Club have raised a commemorative hoist of flags at their club base in Grays to commemorate the disembarkation of the Empire Windrush passengers on 22nd of June 1948. The colourful hoist comprises the modern national flags of countries of many of the immigrants, as well as a banner provided by the Thurrock 100 festival.
COMMUNITY events are being held across Thurrock this year to celebrate Windrush Day (22 June) – a day dedicated to recognising the contribution of the Windrush Generation and their descendants.
