Recording Thurrock’s history: Must do better…….

We have made 3,500 films since Sept 2008. Should we fail, then we feel that we have left a rich archive of what was happening in Thurrock between 2008 and 2011 but we still feel that we have failed to chronicle the personal history of the individuals that make up the borough. What we would like to do is film three people every week over ten minutes and talk about their history. Just a snapshot but a valuable snapshot. And so as to avoid confusion, we are talking about people of all ages.

Here you can rediscover and explore images and articles from the original project to find out how life in Britain has changed... and how some things have stayed the same. Coalhouse Fort Mobile Explorer: 21st century tourism

t used to be that we would gain information whilst at a museum or place of interest by walking around with a guide. As we entered the late twentieth century, the walkman like headset would be a great asset but now, in the heart of our borough, a new innovation has been launched that may well revolutionise how we engage with places of interest and tourism in general.
