Dance Crusade 2011 has licence thrown out

The police described a "nightmare scenario" of coaches, cars and taxi's congregating as drunken and drugged revellers spilled out onto the dark Rectory Road in Orsett. Chief Inspector Moor said: "One woman walked straight into the path of an on-coming coach. I managed to push her away from it just in time. "There could have been a death but I was met with a torrent of abuse by the crowd."

Phil Beer Band at Thameside

Computer Love

A film commissioned last year by Thurrock Council with money from the Government’s Local Area Agreement has been acclaimed at an international film festival. Computer Love, a dance film by Southend-based video artist David Valentine won a special mention by the judges at the IDN festival in Barcelona – the world’s biggest digital dance festival.

Welcome to Romford…….

Simon's next project is called "Welcome to Romford" It will be aired on February 4th at 7.30 pm on Channel 4. The documentary chronicles the life of A1 Taxi's in Romford or more specifically, the people that hire the taxi's.

Let Him Have It!: Part One

For two nights and playing to packed crowds, Let Him Have It has been a living, breathing example of how the course works as a number of disciplines across the curriculum. Let Him Have It is based on the story of Derek Bentley, a british teenager, hanged for the murder of a policeman in 1953.

The Big O comes to Thameside

A TRIBUTE to music legend Roy Orbison is on at the Thameside Theatre in Grays this March. Barry Steele and his band will be paying homage to the singer, who was at his peak between 1961-64, at the Orsett Road theatre on Saturday, March 26 at 7.30pm.

Auditions set for Your Voice

The next Your Voice Event will be held on Thursday 17 February 2011 at the Thameside Theatre in Grays and open auditions for this event are happening on Saturday 29 January 2011 at 3pm at St Clere’s School in Stanford-Le-Hope. All singers will be asked to sing a ‘Verse and Chorus’ from one of their favourite songs a capella (without music). The successful singers will then take to the stage on 17 February at the Thameside Theatre.
