Thurrock MP Jackie Doyle Price was down in Tilbury last weekend showing it wasn't just rhetoric or snazzy t-shirts as a large number of Tories set about tidying up Chaucer Close in Tilbury.
Developers, Lanpro Services Ltd, had appealed to the Planning Inspectorate after their proposal for a lorry park on land off the A1306 Arterial Road between Sainsbury’s Roundabout and the Treacle Mine Roundabout was refused by the Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation.

THURROCK MP Jackie Doyle-Price has made her opinion clear on the suspension of Chafford Hundred councillor, Neil Rockcliffe following his controversial "Chaffrica" comments.
In refusing the application, the DC indicated that they would be writing to Thurrock Council regarding enforcement actions in relation to the farm which they hoped would be carried out quickly.
"The final sanction will be the subject of the decision of the Conservative Group of Thurrock Council. In the interim, Councillor Rockliffe will be suspended from the Conservative Group."
Phil, however, doesn't hold back and believes that the reason he has made an impression is that the bar is relatively low. Phil believes it is time for the 49 councillors to raise their game.
Since YourThurrock broke the news, the BBC team at Westminster has contacted Mr Rockcliffe, who has subsequently issued an apology.

Cllr Rockcliffe, whom we understand is on holiday wrote: "Is missing being in Chaffrica."
His facebook page has another entry : "Thinking that the scriptwriters of Eastenders must live on Chafford Hundred... Has all the ingredients.. Murderers, rapists, concerned ethnic minorities, gay men etc, etc..."
The St Modwen site would bring 97 one bedroom apartments, 98 two bedroom apartments, 305 three-bedroom houses and 150 four bedroom houses. 10 percent of the dwellings will be social housing.
