The sun was hot and it was going to be a tough physical game. Harlow had a dream start with a converted try in their first visit to the Stanford half. Stanford battled their way up field and a great break from Harry Bettis at outside centre almost penetrated the line but for a strong tackle. Bettis offloaded the ball to winger Nathan Dawson who darted over the line to score.

Michael Fogg struck an impressive 103 not out for Belhus but the result was always in doubt until the final few overs when Richard Day turned his arm over for some rare leg-spin. In fact Day was on a hat-trick as Goresbrook edged ever closer to a mammoth Belhus score, but he closed with figures of 2-35 from six overs. Fogg, not content with his century, steamed in from the Chafford end to pick up 2-44 from seven overs. Goresbrook had a centurion too, in opening batsman Alfred.
...and the ladies repay the compliment. Tees went into the second game of the season on a high after beating East London at home 1-0. This weeks game was played in 29 degree heat and with some pace, with both teams defending off the counter attacks. However it was Brentwood that drew first blood by slotting it past Man of the Match Andy Gaut in goal and that's how it ended at halftime.
