Jason shows great aplomb in first century for Orsett

Orsett lost a quick wicket in first over breaking Keeping's middle stump in half, but still managed to get off to a flying start with Mo Ahktar smashing the ball to all parts with a quick-fire 40, but then Orsett lost a couple of quick wickets and the game was in the balance again. Until Stuart Moon and Jason Plom steadied the ship, Moon got a well earned 43 but unfortunately couldn't go on so it was left to Plom and lower order to get it through to 280, Plom ended up on 105 with his first century for Orsett.

Billericay too tricky for Belhus

Belhus opener Gavin Jefferies continued his fine run of early-season form with a fine innings of 66 at North Stifford on Saturday, but it was Billericay who came away with the spoils in a closely fought fixture played in a fine spirit. Martin Guilbert hit 29, while the middle-late order saw a revival as Michael Fogg and Dale Kenyon both hit 32. Pick of the Billericay bowlers were Stuart Hynes with three wickets for 34 runs from ten overs, which included two maidens. Paul Walter ended his eight-over spell with 2-39 (one maiden), while opening bowler Charlie Crassbourne returned 2-45 from eight overs in a spell which also included one maiden. Dominic Kempster picked up 1-21 from five overs.
