FOLLOWING a night out, the 27-year-old man was dropped off by a taxi in Danbury Cresent, South Ockendon and saw a man and woman in this street. The man asked the victim, who was intoxicated, if he was ok as he was unsteady on his feet. As he walked along Daiglen Drive he was assaulted from behind, causing him to fall to the ground. His wallet, containing cash and cards was then stolen. A passing female motorist stopped and called an ambulance for the victim, who suffered numerous cuts and swelling to his face and a fractured eye socket.

DETECTIVES in Thurrock have been unable to identify who owns jewellery that was found dumped in the garden of a property in Quebec Road, Tilbury last month. The items do not match any reported as stolen in burglaries, so are appealing for the owners to come forward if they recognise their property from the attached photos.
FIRE CREWS wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to tackle a fire in a conservatory. Crews were originally called to a fire in a garden in Fobbing Road, Corringham at 3am but on arrival at the scene reported that the rear of the conservatory was 100 per cent alight.

TOWN PLANNING- The Town Planning Scheme, of which I was an advocate at the last Election, has matured and is now in its initial stages. I am anxious that the Scheme should progress for the better development of the town {also] what time such development will take place.
MOTORISTS are asked to report sightings of a Skoda Octavia with activated blue lights to police immediately after it was stolen from outside a house in west Essex. The unmarked police car was taken from the Doddinghurst area shortly before 12:30am on Thursday, April 17. The DE12-plate blue estate car also has a two-tone sound fitted to the vehicle.
ALL plans for changes to services have to be agreed at Thurrock’s Health and Well-Being Overview and Scrutiny Committee, on which we hold a seat as do Thurrock Coalition. As two independent voices that represent the community, we are able to challenge decisions and gain clarity around the impact this will have on the Residents of Thurrock using services.
A 42-year-old man has been cautioned for the theft of a wallet left by a passenger on a bus in Aveley. The man, from Aveley, attended Grays police station on Friday, April 11, after police released a CCTV image. He was cautioned after admitting the theft which happened at around 5pm on March 29, on the No. 22 bus.
WITH over 800 singers, Funky Voices is Essex and Suffolk’s largest modern community choir singing modern music that can be enjoyed by everyone by artists such as Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Queen, Michael Jackson and more. The 800 strong community choir perform to entertain and help raise funds for charities in the local community and worldwide on a regular basis throughout the year and have helped to raise over £260,000 so far. The choir are honoured to have had the opportunity to help and make a difference to all of the charities they have worked with since 2007.
A MAN was seen at 4.55pm to climb over a fence and force open conservatory doors. Police were contacted and the suspect was seen in Watts Crescent and chased in to Watts Woods. The suspect assaulted the police officer and made off. He dropped a rucksack containing some of the items stolen in the burglary, although some remain outstanding including gold Gerrad watch, a silver Ebel watch and some jewellery.
FIRE CREWS are tackling a large rubbish fire on the Brentwood Road in Bulphan.
The incident commander reports that a pile of mixed waste covering an area of 50 metres by 50 metres is completely alight. Crews are using two ground monitors to control the blaze.
