Nepalese fashion collection wows Palmer’s

STUDENTS and VIPs were wowed by the stunning spring couture collection, showcased at a spectacular fashion show at Palmer’s Collection last week. Aspiring designer and current BTEC Art and Design student Sanjay Rai and fellow student Louiser Businge put on a fantastic fashion show as part of their Extended Project work. The students organised the entire event including a casting for models.

Men wanted after theft of metal from Stanford-le-Hope

Copper piping was taken overnight on March 10 when thieves entered a garden of a private property. Whilst the CCTV is not of excellent quality, it does show one of the men with a bushy moustache and police hope that someone can name him. Former Grays resident at centre of Colchester murder probe

A FORMER Grays resident is the subject of a murder investigation after he was found dying in a Colchester park on Saturday morning. James Attfield (known as Jim), 33 of East Bay, Colchester was found by a member of the public in Castle Park, just before 5.45am this morning, Saturday. He sadly died while paramedics were at the scene having suffered serious injuries to his upper body, including to his head and hands.

Thieves steal dozens of IPads from South Ockendon school

POLICE in Thurrock have issued CCTV picture of thieves who stole Ipads from a school in South Ockendon earlier this month. Overnight on March 5 thieves broke into Bonnygate School in Arisdale Avenue and stole thousands of pounds worth of Ipads that are used by the teachers and children.

A TEENAGE boy is in hospital and nine people have been arrested following a large fight in Pitsea. Police were called to a fight shortly after 6pm on Wednesday, 26 March in an underpass near Station Road.

Fire at rail container at Port of Tilbury

FIRE Crews were called to a rail container depot after fire broke out in the engine of a one tonne locomotive. Crews arrived at the scene at 4.30am on Tuesday morning and reported that the fire was already out.

Thurrock Choral Society to showcase Haydn at spring concert

THIS work, for choir with three soloists, (soprano, tenor and bass) was originally written in both English and German, as Haydn had spent much of his time in London and the text is loosely based on a poem of the same name by Joseph Thomson, an English poet. Although the choir often sings in other languages, on this occasion it has decided to use the more popular of the two main English translations. The performance will also feature a narrator whose dramatic interpretation of the text will be interspersed amongst the musical items.

Teenage cyclist airlifted to hospital after collision in Grays

POLICE attended the scene of a collision between a red Vauxhall Corsa and a bicycle at just before 12:00 today (Saturday, March 22). It happened in the Morrison’s supermarket car park in London Road. The 18-year-old cyclist was injured and was taken to hospital in London by the air ambulance.

Man sought after theft from Waterstones in Lakeside

A man walked into Waterstones inside the West Thurrock shopping centre at 4pm on Sunday, March 2 and placed approximately 40 packs of the cards in his bag before leaving the shop. The man pictured in the CCTV image is described as white, aged in his late 20s and is gaunt-looking.
