JOHN Stanley’s Care Agency, a division of Manorcourt Homecare, has today announced it has been awarded a four-year contract to provide home-based care in Thurrock. Following an assessment process, Thurrock and Havering Councils have contracted with the homecare provider to deliver vital services to vulnerable adults in the regions reports homecare.co.uk.

A NEW befriending service was launched at the Park Inn in Thurrock on Monday afternoon. The Mayor of Thurrock Cllr. Tony Fish opened the service and a presentation was made by Shelley Johnson and Tony Greaves of Scope.
A TEENAGER is due to appear in court later this month after having been charged with a number of firearm and drugs offences following a robbery in Grays. A pizza delivery man had been attending a residential address on Mill Road at 10pm on Tuesday, April 16 when he was approached by several men who threatened him with a firearm, before stealing the pizza bag and its food contents.

THE MV Koutalianos became the largest ever cargo vessel to call the UK’s Port of Tilbury last week. Collecting 50,000 tonnes of barley destined for Saudi Arabia, the shipment was part of a contract Tilbury has with Glencore Grain UK Ltd. Weighing in at 93,000 tonnes and measuring 230 metres in length, the size of two football pitches laid end-to-end, the arrival of the post-Panamax sized MV Koutalianos required careful planning to ensure her safe arrival into the port.
I WOULD to express my anger and frustration at the response I received from Essex Police when I rang to complain about youths letting off fireworks. Before I begin, I want to state that I have the utmost respect for the police but the attitude this evening (Friday) of Essex Police Control and in particular the "idiot" that phoned from Ockendon Police station was beyond belief.
POLICE and other emergency services were called to the Dartford river crossing this afternoon after reports that a man had jumped from the bridge. The incident occurred at just after 1pm. YT understands that his body was later recovered from the Thames. The road has reopened but tailbacks of several miles continue.
