Thurrock residents consulted on electricity connection project

The power generator InterGen is planning to build a new gas fired power station, known as The Gateway Energy Centre, at Coryton. Once completed this will produce electricity for up to a million homes and up to 150MW for the London Gateway Logistics and Business Park Development.

Meeting over Belhus lorry park raises more questions than answers

The confusion arrives when reference is made to the details of a planning application regarding the site. The application makes reference to a road which would take traffic off the Stifford Road and around the side of the site. In the meeting, the Belhus councillor asked "when the additional road had been proposed as he wasn’t aware of this in the application."

House fire in Billet Lane, Stanford

Firefighters were called to a fire in the roof of a house in Billet Lane, Stanford-le-Hope at 7 am this morning. The roof was 10 percent alight, crews wore four sets of breathing apparatus and used two hose reels to extinguish the fire by 08:53hrs.
