The Your Voice Showcase happens three times a year and features approximately ten acts per show. Previous participants will not be considered for this performance. AMATEUR DRAMATICS is alive and well and flourishing in Thurrock in the form of Thurrock Courts Players (TCP). Indeed, TCP were in the form of their lives with their three performances of Fur Coat and No Knickers pulling in three sell out crowds at the Thameside Theatre.
Film submissions for the festival are now open, with the closing date on the 1st of May. There is a vast category agenda for the festival so any type of film is welcomed for submission. To submit a film, go onto www.thurrockfilm.co.uk and follow the instructions under submit a film section. Chosen films for the festival will be announced at the end of May.
The Insights evening offers the opportunity to see Royal Ballet dancers rehearsing roles that take weeks to perfect, as well as hearing from the production team about the challenges of creating a smash hit for the stage. Choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, together with Royal Ballet dancers and members of the production team, will explore a world of hedgehogs, croquet mallet flamingos, a scary Queen of Hearts and a tap-dancing Mad Hatter.

AN OLYMPIC dream has come true for three dedicated Thurrock dancers. Karen Keeley, Sarah Smallbone and Jane Chinnery have all been selected to dance at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics.

IT HAS been a roller coaster ride for Thurrock's Paul Turner as he finished fourth in the Dutch TV hit programme The Voice. Former William Edwards student, Paul, 25 went down a storm with the Dutch fans and has attracted over 80,000 followers.

The next Your Voice Event will be held on Thursday 23 February 2012 at the Thameside Theatre in Grays and will include a Justin Bieber tribute. Open auditions for this event are taking place on Saturday 28 January 2012 between 10.00am and 1.00pm at the Thameside Theatre, Orsett Road, Grays.
FORMER WILLIAM EDWARDS student Paul Turner has become an overnight singing sensation in Holland. Paul has got to the semi-final stage of the NBC programme "The Voice" and he really seems to have captured the Dutch fans imagination.
