Films of Colour: From Thurrock to David Bowie

Originally produced by Visconti for the Thin White Duke’s 2001 album Heathen, Films of Colour’s version of Slow Burn came to Visconti’s attention earlier this year following the online buzz around the band’s single Capital/Persinette. The band include former Gable Hall and Palmer's College student, Jack Allinson and shot one of their earlier videos in the Thurrock area.

The girls have proven very popular on all sorts of circuits with their mix of traditional forties numbers mashed up with modern tunes from Lady Gaga to The Saturdays. The girls include former Chadwell resident Khylie Williams who is an old friend of Your Voice supremo Shana Elliott-Hayers.

THE TILBURY TIGHTROPE plays on Saturday and Sunday at the Cruise Terminal in the Port of Tilbury. There has been a huge amount of work going on behind the scenes.

Birthday celebrations for Thameside Theatre

It’s an evening of song, music and comedy and the tickets cost £6 and for that modest price you will also get a glass of Bubbly and a slice of Birthday cake in the foyer after the show! The evening will be hosted by John Scowen, Chairman of Thurrock Arts Council, well known local actor and drama festival adjudicator along with some vaguely familiar time travelling companions who should turn up as well! John will also be assisted by the familiar professional voiceover tones of Mike Jones.
