Joining the Event as special guests will be The Tootsie Rollers, who have been taking the London cabaret scene by storm. The Tootsie Rollers are an all-singing, all-dancing retro girlband. They dazzle audiences with their sizzling sound and high energy performances.
THE WORKFORCE OF Thurrock Mind became garden force recently as they helped totally resurface a garden area as part of a Thurrock Lifestyles Solution base. YT spoke to director Neil Woodbridge about the work Mind had done and the benefits of the area to the service users.

THURROCK student Thomas Mangan has been playing the guitar for over ten years now. He has been a member of several bands including the Alternate Mondays. Many people have asked Thomas for tips so he decided to put some of his tutorials on a youtube channel.
Aladdin will be produced by Polka Dot Pantomimes this year – who are well known for their incredible production values and high standards. There will be new scenery, new costumes, new faces in our all star cast and plenty of audience participation that will keep audiences of all ages entertained and amused. The Thameside Panto is a real story with real characters – not just a string of variety acts. Aladdin is a classic story that children will know from various film and television versions. There will be some fantastic singing and dancing and a large dose of comedy, sparkle, magic and spectacle thrown in for good measure.
The Royal Opera House team has designed and created set and costumes for the show. Royal Opera House freelance designer Bernadette Roberts has been working with a group of ten young people from the Grays School Media Art College to produce the designs for the set and costumes. The young people first created models of their designs and the best ideas from these were then chosen by Bernadette, her team and the young people, to produce the final set for the show.
THE ENERGY from the audience was enough to shake the room on what was a very very entertaining evening at the Thameside Theatre. TRUST are now ten years old and so they were in great mood to celebrate.
THE RELATIONSHIP between the Royal Opera House and Thurrock has been a highly fruitful one. One of the key examples of this has been the Thurrock Community Chorus. They were a cornerstone of the Ludd and Isis production and have continued to produce marvellous work.

The connection with the discoveries of a Saxon settlement at Mucking was highlighted by Jonathan Catton, Thurrock Council’s Heritage and Museum officer as he welcomed visitors to the performance. “I am sure this poem was recited in the timber halls on the Mucking site and I can envisage some drinking from the fabulous glass beakers which were discovered in the graves on the site.
THURROCK Youth Theatre took their play "Downfall Of An Uprising" to Brentwood Drama Festival last week and won the Youth section. Of the eight individual awards presented last Saturday, five of them went to TYT members, Michael Harris, JamesBurgess, Ben Ward, AlexLawler and Judi Cordingley.
UK Festival Awards have told Thurrock Council that they had “over 100 judges visiting hundreds of festivals throughout the season, and they’ve been very impressed with the standard of events across the UK”.
They go on: “Now it’s time for public voting to open for Fan’s Favourite Festival, as well as Best Overseas Festival, Headline Performance Of the Year, Best Breakthrough Artist and Anthem of the Summer.”
