SOME 17 years ago I wrote an article for the Faversham Times about legendary Faversham Banger driver Ken Hollamby getting ready to retire from the sport at the age of 61.

THURROCK'S Primary District Football Team were celebrating at the weekend after overcoming five other Essex District Teams to be crowned Essex 7-a-side Champions. The county competition, part of competition sponsored by Danone, was held at Shenfield High School and now means that Thurrock have qualified for the next round of the competition which is the south England finals in March involving qualified district teams from counties across the south of England.
