Canning Town caused an upset on Saturday after they beat Southend Manor to reach the First Round of the FA Vase for the first time in their history. The game ended goalless after normal time and remained goalless during the thirty minutes of extra-time.

IN July, three weeks of football trials were held at St Clere's Secondary School to select the players that would represent Thurrock for the forthcoming season. Over 70 players from 37 Primary schools in Thurrock attended and eleven boys from nine different primary schools were selected.
