Cricket: Comfortable win for Thurrock

THE hosts batted first and were bowled out for 159 in the 37th over. Most of the batsmen got themselves settled, but none were able to kick on andmake a substantial score. On his debut for the first team, Lee Henry came in at number eight and top scored with 22, while Ross Fullbrook and Rob Neal both made 18. While not a big total, Thurrock's bowlers had at least something to defend.

Cricket: Belhus show their class against Romford

IT would not have been possible to watch a better game of 50 over cricket than the one contested by these two sides at the village green in North Stifford. The visitors won the toss and decided to make use of the excellent batting conditions. A 124 run partnership between opener Matthew Tarr and no 3 batsmen Alan Croft ensured that their total would be a defendable one.. Tarr made 42 whilst Croft went on to complete an excellent 127 from 118 balls. Connor Day and Daniel Dreher were the pick of the home bowlers. Day taking 3 for 63 in his ten over spell and Dreher 2 for 43.
