Football: Grays Ath pre-season friendlies

The fixture with Team Braintree will take place at The Amlin Stadium on Saturday 4th August, Kick Off 3pm. The friendly with Erith Town takes place at the Erith Stadium on Saturday 28th July, Kick Off 3pm.

Athletics: Cambridge meet brings glittering prizes

Thurrock had only a handful of athletes competing and all did well. James Pearson won a silver medal in the 100m with a time of 12.47s U15B. Liam Barnard and Tom Wakeling ran the U13B 75mH. Liam came in 3rd with a personal best time of 14.19 and Tom came in 4th with a time of 16.80.

Athletics: Track and road success for Harriers

Again the triumvirate of Mark Jenkins, Michael Shortall and Dan George notched up half the team's points total. They also covered half the events. Dan George, whose work committment and recent bout of ill health have restrictred his training, notched up many good performances in the jumps and throws. The best performance was a 1.85m high jump.

St.Clere’s F.C. U15’s recently collected silverware by winning the Southend & District League Spring Cup Final, beating Forest Glade “Whites” 1 – 0.

William Edwards were winning this closely fought match between the boroughs strongest teams by 2 goals to 1 until the final 5 minutes. Kieran Desmond, who previously scored an earlier equaliser, headed home from close range despite a goalmouth scramble from the William Edwards defenders.

Athletics: Haul of medals for Harriers at Essex Champs

Damien Nugent ran a pb of 12.59 in 100m for the U17m and was followed by James Pearson who also ran a pb 12.07 in 100m for the U15m winning the final. Shannon Jameson ran 100m U15w and came 4th in her heat with a time of 13.38. Lyn Talbert ran a season’s best performance in 15.38 for the V50 and a pb in the 300m 48.77.

Mark has managerial experience at many levels and both club chairman and Mark are pleased and excited about the appointment and are now looking forward to building a squad that will be able to compete in next seasons Ryman Premier Division.

Aveley Belles celebrate a season unbeaten

They have won the Thundermite girls football league and are in the Thundermite u-11s girls cup final, that will be played at East Thurrock United on 13th May at 2.00.
