Stanford were keen to start more positively then they did in the previous week but Belhus opener Jamie Riley bowled with good pace and accuracy as he swung the ball to knock over openers Luke Abbey and Alex Ellis cheaply. With the score 31-2, Leslie joined Knight at the crease. Knight began in confident mood as he punished the loose deliveries he received and once Owen Jefferies removed Leslie, Stanford only needed another 30 runs. Michael Gray (12 not out) finished proceedings with Lee Knight finishing on 34 not out as Stanford won by 7 wickets.

A strong start by Green's opening pair of Jon Bayfield (19) and Paul Hurworth (37), who put on 51 for the first wicket, proved decisive in this Dukes Essex T20 fixture at Central Park on Sunday. Their first race was just as entertaining as a 30 car race with all three having turns at the lead and Rob Buckmaster coming out on top. With pressure building on the WOSCC batsman, Knight rested his frugal openers and introduced the match winning partnership of Gary Sanderson and Ross Poulton. The grey haired Sanderson looks like a man of many years but this didn’t deter him from running in hard into the wind. 2 wickets in consecutive balls (one of which was Pratt) placed SLHCC in pole position at drinks with the score at 52-3. From this point onwards it was very much the Ross Poulton show. Poulton bowled with venom, hunger and spun the ball at right angles to bamboozle the WOSCC batsman. Poulton ripped through the WOSCC batting line up to record impressive figures of 6-22 off 14.1 overs.
