THURROCK photographer Rob Lay is best known for beautiful sunsets and sightings of rare birds. So imagine Rob's disgust when he went down Lytton Road in Chadwell St Mary only to discover that fly-tippers had deposited litter all over the lane. Rob switched his stills camera to moving image and captured the disgusting images.
SENIOR Investigating Officer, DI Anne Cameron, said: "We want to establish a motive behind this assault and so need to identify and speak with this man as a matter of priority. As well as wanting a name of the man shown in the efit, we are also keen to hear from anyone who saw three black men on Belmont Road or at Grays Beach last Monday evening.”

A SPOKESPERSON for EEAST said: "We were called to the aid of a man, who was believed to be in his 40s, who had suffered life-threatening head and chest injuries. He was treated on scene and was sedated before being airlifted to the Royal London Hospital, where upon arrival he was believed to be in a critical condition."
FIRE CREWS were called to a fire which started in the blocked flue of a gas boiler in St Margarets Avenue, Stanford-le-Hope. Using one hose reel jet crews had extinguished the fire by 09:42hrs this morning (Monday January 27th).The occupants had been alerted to a problem in their boiler by a carbon monoxide detector sounding at the weekend, but had chosen to ignore the alarm.

JANUARY began with the Thurrock Writers Circle members toasting in the New Year with a glass of wine. Barbara Spencer won the TWC Christmas Short Story competition receiving a money prize and holds the TWC writers Trophy for the year. CONTINUING to build on their recent successes and with a fresh nomination for NODA's Best Play 2013 under their belt, Thurrock Courts Players return to the Thameside Theatre this 6-8 February with the riotously funny farce 'Love Begins at 50'. THE LAKESIDE special police unit gave me an insight into their intriguing job. Last week (Friday 17th January) I was allowed to accompany the Lakeside police on the beat. The police at Lakeside have a job to keep the shops and shoppers safer, in the midst of doing so they are arresting 7-14 criminals a week!

intu Lakeside’s youngest ever shopper was born yesterday when her mother went into labour in the shopping centre and gave birth at approximately 5pm on a cordoned off section of the mall. While waiting for an ambulance to arrive, baby Deborah was born with the support of intu Lakeside security officer Maggie Webb and the team, before being taken to hospital for a full check-up.
