THE distressed Filipino crew of the mv Isis have not been paid their wages over the last few months after the ship’s Greek owner fell into financial problems.

PALMER'S student and air cadet Lewis Coble spent over two weeks helping to renovate a remote school in the Thar Desert, north-west of India.
Lewis, 16 from Grays raised almost £1600 alone to help fund the trip by taking part in a range of fundraising activities including bag packing at his local Asda store, a yard sale and a sponsored trip to every underground station as quickly as possible.

A THURROCK woman is having her head shaved as part of a charity push in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT). Genevieve Smith works for The Body shop, who are sponsors of the TCT.
FIRE CREWS had extinguished the blaze by 11:17hrs. The fire spread from the garage into the house. Crews used three hose reel jets and three main jets to tackle the fire. An investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of the fire.
