Police swoop as several arrests made in Derby Road.

Several males were detained following a call to Dell Road just off Hathaway Road in Grays. Police cars raced to just below the multi-storey car park in the centre of town where a number of males were detained.

Personal safety highlighted by partnership

MONDAY was National Personal Safety Day. Stakeholders from the Thurrock Community Safety Partnership were out giving information and advice in Thurrock Council’s Civic Offices and railway stations across the borough where posters were also on display.

Police were called by concerned members of the public around 11.45pm and found a large group of teenagers who were believed to have caused damage to property and been involved in a fight.

Major heist at Lakeside jewellers

Around eight men dressed in black and wearing balaclavas forced entry to the jewellers and made off with a significant amount of jewellery and watches. Police are appealing to anyone that may have seen anything suspicious in the area surrounding Lakeside.

Suspected thief dragged under vehicle

A man was arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft and tampering with a vehicle after he was injured when a van drove off while he was underneath it. Police were called to Sherwood, North Stifford, at about 7.55pm on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, following reports of an injured man lying on the road.

Chafford man wanted by police: Owen Wood

Owen Wood, 21, is wanted by police after breaching the terms of his licence by failing to attend appointments with his supervising officer and failing to reside at the approved address.

Driver involved in fatal RTC on A13 named

Mr Forman was driving an orange Nissan Qashqai which was in collision with an articulated lorry on the eastbound carriageway of the A13 near the junction with the A1012 at North Stifford. The collision happened shortly before 7am on Tuesday, October 5, 2010.

Horsebox stolen in Aveley

Investigating officer, Pc Clare Archer, said: “We believe the box may have been taken by a sliver Transit van, so I would ask anyone that remembers seeing this to contact police immediately. The box has distinctive foot long dent near the jockey door, so if you are approached to buy this item or see it anywhere, we want to hear from you.”

Fatal on the A13 this morning

A man has died following a collision that occured on the A13 this morning, Tuesday, October 5 at around 7am. The collision took place on the A13 Southend bound just between the M25 and Grays exits and involved a lorry and a car.
