Police launched a search as fears grew for Mrs McNeill’s safety after it was found she left home with her medication for diabetes, keys, purse and mobile phone.

Further arrests following M25 fatal

The 54-year-old man from Wickford was arrested on Saturday, October 16, on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries to December 14.

Appeal for missing woman: Sharon McNeill

She is described as white, 5ft 2ins tall, of stocky build, with shoulder length dark brown hair and a pale complexion. She may be wearing a denim skirt, flat ballet pump shoes and a thin back cardigan. She was wearing jewellery including a gold bangle with a ball on either end, two gold wrist chains, as well as her engagement and wedding rings.

It appears that no-one can tell us if any crimes in Thurrock have actually been solved. Three months ago we asked: "Could you supply the detection rates for the following crimes in Thurrock over the 2006-7, 07-08 and 08-09 periods: Violence Against Person, sexual offences, robbery,fraud,drugs,criminal damage and burglary" The struggle to get an answer continues.

Man charged over February fatal collision

A man from Grays has been charged with causing death by careless driving in connection with a fatal collision in the town on Friday, February 19, which resulted in the death of pedestrian Barry Baker.

Polish woman named as victim of Fridays crash on M25

She was Izabela Derbis, a Polish national who lived in Warren Street, west London. She was a passenger in a Renault Scenic which was being driven by another woman who is currently in a stable condition in Queens Hospital in Romford.

Is there a “crime spree” in South Ockendon

What we do notice is the high number of appeals for information regarding crimes in South Ockendon. The robbery at Tesco Express, assaults outside pubs, delivery driver robbed, asbo for teenagers, purge on youths in Dilkes Park, arson attack in Quince Tree Close. The list appears to be endless (and that is just the last two months!).

At 2am on Monday, October 11, a suspect set fire to a green Vauxhall Astra, completely destroying it and two other cars nearby. A total £6,000 damage was caused.

Another fatal crash on the M25

Police are in attendance at a crash on the clockwise track of the M25 between junction 29 and 30. The crash happened at about 05.40 am this morning, (October 15, 2010) and involved at least 3 vehicles.

Multi-million pound Manchester drug haul traced to Tilbury

The driver of the lorry was questioned and later released without charge.It is believed he picked up the delivery from Tilbury docks and was told to deliver it Heywood Industrial Park in Manchester.

THE OCKENDON owner of the website Solicitors from Hell has lost a court case after a lawyer won libel damages after malicious and untrue accusations about her were posted on the website by a “cyber stalker”. The Evening Standard reports that Megan Phillips was the victim of “completely fictitious” derogatory personal and professional remarks left on the Solicitors from Hell site.

Man charged with possesion of firearm

A MAN has been charged with possessing an imitation firearm in a public place following an incident in Grays. Police were called to Dell Road at about 1.40pm on Tuesday, October 12 following reports that a man had been seen with a handgun. A man was arrested about 15 minutes later in Derby Road.

Fine for lorry driver who worked 26 hours without a break

A lorry driver who worked for 26 hours without taking a proper break was fined £520 and ordered off the roads to rest under a safety operation carried out by Essex Police. Two other drivers, in a vehicle from a European- based company, were found to have amassed 160 infringements in connection with their working hours and rest breaks. They were fined £600 each .
