Education minister grilled on EMA

IT IS clear that education minister, Michael Gove MP really enjoyed the wide variety of subjects he discussed with the students at Gateway Academy but it was Year 11 student Andrews Gyamfi who asked the toughest question as he put the minister on the spot with a question on the Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA).

Samantha Allan’s portrayal of Dorothy was excellent and truly captivated the audience effortlessly. Throughout the entire show Samantha consistently wowed the audience with her brilliant solo vocal performances and convincing acting abilities. Given that Dorothy is the lead character, I suspect this was a very demanding role. However, Samantha rose to the challenge and her performance was flawless.

TODAY, European 400 metre hurdles silver medalist Rhys Williams found out the timetable for the events at the London 2012 Olympics. Nothing focusses the mind more than the date: 0900 August 3rd 2012. Rhys was at William Edwards school to talk to the up and coming athletes at the school and then take them through their paces.

Around £2 million is to be spent on a new dedicated early years and foundation stage block at Stifford Primary in Parker Road, Grays. The development also includes three new classrooms to bring the school up to the required amount of teaching room for its published numbers and provide an enclosed courtyard as safe, outside learning space for Year 1 children.

Marathon fundraiser will be Phab for kids!

Students and staff at Hassenbrook School in Stanford-le-Hope will be supporting Mr Anthony Hattam, Leader of Learning in Humanities at the school, raise funds for the ‘Phab kids’ charity.  Mr Hattam has signed up for the Virgin London Marathon in a bid to raise a figure of at least £1500.

Calls for autism centre in Thurrock
