Port of Tilbury strengthens ties with Zeebrugge

FORTH Ports Limited and Port of Zeebrugge / MBZ have today (19 June 2013) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which marks the start of a strategic agreement between the Port companies with the aim of the exploring mutual opportunities to attract new container cargo volumes.

Dwell at Lakeside retail park reported as “close to collapse”

The retailer opened six new stores last year, including its biggest-ever shop at the Lakeside retail park. Twitter users reported that Dwell stores on Tottenham Court Road and Westfield Stratford were closed on Wednesday morning. A spokesman for Dwell said: "There has been a significant amount of press speculation on the future of Dwell over the past couple of weeks. The business has been working with its advisers, including Argyll Partners and Duff & Phelps, to secure further working capital for the business and is currently talking to a number of interested parties who see the value of the Dwell brand and product, its customer base and its multichannel proposition.

DP World: First we take Manhattan!

DECLARING the new facility at the Thurrock Learning Campus of South Essex College on Grays’ High Street now open for business, Local Government Minister Brandon Lewis said "Businesses are at the heart of the Government’s vision for the Thames Gateway which is why are doing everything we can to give them greater freedoms, powers and incentives to strengthen the local economy, drive regeneration and encourage prosperity.”  

HW Wilson among companies that have cut carbon emissions

The Thurrock Low Carbon Business Programme has assisted HW Wilson with a grant to the tune of £972 for a new boiler; the Wharf Group (KS Timber) with £1,632 for a diesel particulate filter fitted to one of their lorries; and £1257.06 for the Your Style Salon, for new heaters and double glazing.
