Roof on Purfleet wine warehouse collapses

Wine companies are anxious for news on the condition of their stocks after the roof collapsed at London City Bond’s warehouse in Purfleet last week reports The Drinks Business magazine. Staff at the warehouse tried to salvage as much stock as possible, but their task was made all the more difficult due to the fact any stock which wasn’t destroyed in the accident was then exposed to potentially damaging sub-zero temperatures.

Shop and drop at Lakeside

This Christmas, Lakeside’s Shop & Drop service is collecting money for the Essex Deaf Children’s Society; last Christmas Lakeside raised £2,468 for Little Havens Children’s Hospice.

The figures were obtained by The Sunday Telegraph from Synovate Retail Performance, a company that counts shoppers using electronic sensors in 5,500 stores up and down the country. Dr Tim Denison, director of retail intelligence at Synovate, said that the decline will have had a huge impact on store groups' Christmas sales figures: "Once retailers get behind with sales there is no way of catching up."

Dove Spa celebrates its first birthday

Dove Spa at Lakeside Shopping Centre is preparing to celebrate its first birthday with a range of rather tempting treats. On Thursday 2nd December between 4pm and 8pm, staff will be offering visitors a glass of fizz and a celebration cupcake, along with tours of the spa. There will also be a demonstration of Dove’s January Detox Treatment.
