POLICE are advising motorists to avoid the M25 following a collision anti-clockwise between junctions 28 and 27.
A collision between a motorcycle and an articulated lorry occurred just before 7.30am this morning, Thursday, July 18.
MOTORISTS are advised of a road closure in Thurrock following a road crash. The collision in Purfleet happened shortly after 2pm when a van and a lorry struck each other near Watts’s Wood on the A1306 Arterial Road. A section of the road has been closed and is anticipated to remain so until this evening. As a result, motorists are advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
GRAYS Town Band is holding another free concert on Saturday 13th July at 6.30pm at the United Reform Church in Bradleigh Avenue, Grays. The theme for this concert is ‘Solos, Duets, and Trios’. This theme has enabled the Band to present a wide range of music featuring a number of players on different instruments in starring roles!
STIFFORD councillor, Angie Gaywood will be on hand all weekend, to help residents complete consultation forms in relation to the Dartford Crossing. Cllr Gaywood will be at Headon Hall in Stifford Clays from 11.30 until 1.30pm on Friday and 9am to 11.30 on Saturday.
At 2pm on Friday July 12th, a hundred school children will assemble at Blackshots Olympic Rings Floral display under the direction of Thurrock Council Community section and Museum Curator Jonathan Catton to walk the Olympic Heritage Trail. Following the route of the Torch Relay, Jonathan will point out historic features along the route with the help of a specially commissioned pamphlet. There will be no road closures as the children will stick to pavement and pedestrian areas.
ON SATURDAY, there is a Family Fun Day at Bulphan Village Hall and Park, organised jointly by Bulphan School PTA and Bulphan Village Community Forum. It comprises the PTA's annual summer fete, and the celebration of Bulphan Recreation Ground's new status as a Queen Elizabeth II Field in Trust. This means it is permanently protected with a Royal Charter, as a recreational space.

THURROCK Council is inviting top officials, ministers and councillors to the borough to discuss proposals for another Lower Thames Crossing. The council’s planning, transport and regeneration overview and scrutiny committee agreed the move and the special sitting of the committee will be on Monday, 1 July.

The J’s Hospice recognised that intu Lakeside’s Personal Stylist service could provide the kind of support that Kaleigh needed as going shopping at the centre for an outfit to wear to the wedding would be impossible. Home visits aren’t normally offered for free but on this occasion an exception was gladly made and Personal Stylist Angela Poplett conducted a series of visits with rails full of clothes and accessories to find her the right look.
FIRE crews tackled two fires in Purfleet on Saturday afternoon. Crews from Grays were called to a machinery fire at Foster Yeoman, in Jurgens Road, at about 12.15pm.
